Alex Murphy (basketball)

Alex James Murphy (born June 3, 1993) is an American college basketball player who currently plays for the University of Florida. He had previously played for Duke University. Murphy was one of the top-rated college basketball recruits in the class of 2011. He is the son of former National Basketball Association (NBA) player Jay Murphy, and the brother of NBA forward Erik Murphy. His mother Päivi is from Finland and played for the Finnish national team between 1988 and 1994.
==High school career==
Murphy was ranked as the No. 41 player in the ESPNU 100, the No. 45 player by Rivals.com, and the No. 41 player by Scout.com. He attended the St. Mark's School in Massachusetts, where he played basketball alongside 2012 elite recruits Kaleb Tarczewski and Nik Stauskas. Murphy led St. Mark's School to a 27–3 record as a junior, but the team fell short of a state championship. In April 2011, he decided to join the class of 2011 and attend Duke university in the fall of that year. Murphy left St. Mark's School and attended South Kingstown High School for the remaining months.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=St. Mark's High School Basketball )
